Forget about sweet gifts like cargo shorts and grass-cutting shoes, we want some killer Jeep action for Father’s Day.

For most dads out there, Father’s Day leaves something to be desired. Maybe you’ll get some sweet new cargo shorts or white grass cutting shoes. Or, if you’re really lucky, maybe the family will take you out to dinner instead of making you fire up the grill. But if you were down at Laredo Harley-Davidson in Laredo, Texas for Father’s Day, you undoubtedly had a killer time. Because it was there that Jeep Punishment Jeep Club showed up to give dads what they really want – some killer car crushing action.

A plethora of built Jeep machines showed up and mixed in perfectly with rows and rows of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. This was the very first time that Laredo H-D hosted such an event, but it truly turned out to be a fantastic time. Heck, even local Assistant County Attorney Rollie Garza was manning the grille, cranking out burgers and carne asada for everyone in attendance.

Of course, this killer event wasn’t just for dads. “We invite everyone,” Laredo Harley-Davidson Sales/Event Coordinator Tony Reyes told LMT Online. “Bring your family, bring your kids, have a good time.” And it was just the start of many upcoming summer events at the dealership. Laredo H-D also hosts Bike Night the third Thursday of each month. And they’re throwing together a 4th of July extravaganza.

It’s all part of the dealer’s efforts to welcome new riders, of course. “It’s just part of the Harley community and the culture,” said Laredo’s General Manager Steve Trujillo. “You bring people in. Six in 10 people that ride a Harley-Davidson are new to the Harley world. When you walk into a store like this with a bar and shield. What is their preconceived notion of Harley riders? That we’re a bunch of weird, tattooed tough guys. I don’t have a tattoo. I’m not very tall. So when they walk into a store like this, we want to make sure that they feel welcome and that we don’t scare them off.”

Which is cool and all, but watching these monster Jeeps crush some poor cars was obviously the highlight for us. And so long as Laredo keeps inviting us back, perhaps we’ll even consider adding a two-wheeler to our collection, too!
