Jeep Owners Gather to Honor Fallen Virginia Troopers

Charlottesville unrest inspires others to band together, showcasing the true spirit of America.

Ther are no boundaries to what Jeep owners are able to do. In most cases, we tend to think of that in the context of off-road capabilities, but as we’ve noted here before at JK-Forumit also applies to good causes.

That shines crystal-clear in the efforts of a group of Central Virginia Jeep owners who recently came together to honor the two Virginia State Troopers who died in a helicopter crash near Charlottesville, Virginia.

According to CBS news affiliate WTVR, the Jeep gathering was intended to honor the fallen troopers and their families with a candlelight vigil. However, the group wound up raising money for the state police memorial fund as well.

Crystal Cawley, one of the organizers of the event, told the news station the effort was also aimed at making a more general statement about the need to support law enforcement on a more regular basis. “It’s a shame. I think we need to do this stuff more often,” says Cawley.

Of course, we’ve reported on a number of cause-oriented Jeep events here at JK-Forum in the past. We know that often times good Samaritan deeds organized by Jeep fans go unreported.

That said, we certainly get Cawley’s point. When it comes to honoring those who put their lives on the line to help and protect others, we can never do enough.
