After setting a goal that seemed damn near impossible to some, the brand looks like it actually is going to pull off selling 1 million vehicles this year. Jeep has already topped last year’s sales of 731,565 units sold and there are nearly three full months left.

The 1 million goal, first announced in January by Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne, is part of an aggressive global sales strategy for Jeep.

“It’s been a lot of hard work and a lot of fun to go and try and get that goal,” Jeep Marketing Director Jim Morrison told the Detroit News. “We’re on track and we need to keep the momentum for the balance of the year in order to obtain the 1 million goal.”

To date, Jeep has sold roughly 747,000 new vehicles.
