Topless Jeep Wrangler Fails to Avoid Highway Collision, Gets Totaled

By -

Lucky North Carolina driver flips over completely on highway I-240 and survives.

Video out of Ashville, North Carolina from YouTuber Mr Tin-Foil-Hat shows one Jeep driver having a very bad day. While merging with other traffic on highway I-240, a Jeep Wrangler attempts to go into the far left lane, while a red SUV attempts to undercut the pass with their own move into the left lane. Both vehicles occupy the lane momentarily, but the Jeep seeing an impeding crash made an abrupt turn to the right. This sent the jeep into a slide, and after impacting a guard rail on the far right side of the highway, flipped on its roof. Ultimately, the jeep came to a rest on its side in the middle lane of the highway.

Dash cam footage from another Jeep caught the whole incident from start to finish, and as such, the occupants of the camera car were the first-responders. Some expletives can be heard as the whole incident unfolds, but as they stop, one person runs to the overturned Jeep for help, while the other calls 911. At the same time, we can only assume the dispatcher said “911 what’s your emergency,” as the caller in the camera car says “um all of them. I’m on I-240, a car just flipped, it got hit.”

As fluids start leaking from the tipped over Jeep, other drivers also stop to assist with any help that may be needed.

Jeep highway crash rollover

It’s worth mentioning that this highway crash could have been much, much worse if seatbelts hadn’t been used. It didn’t appear that this Jeep had the hardtop on, making seat belt use even more life-saving. While some bumps, bruises and scrapes might have occurred, the folks in that Jeep can go home to their family. Buckle up.
