The Jeep Wrangler is truly a global platform. Yes, even those crazy Europeans get to have some 4×4 fun in America’s most American truck. And to keep with that tradition of offering Europeans some good old-fashioned America-ness, Jeep is launching what they call the Black Edition II series.

The new Wrangler will feature a seven-slat grill, a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, a set of one-off logos, leather seats, and an all new trim. Each of those will be completely blacked out to really emphasize the name. This Wrangler is based originally on the Sahara package, which features navigation and a few other upgrades.

However, where I really feel cheated is that the European buyers will have access to a 2.8L diesel engine that produces 200hp, but 339lb-ft of torque. Come on Jeep, why can’t us Americans get that same engine as well?

In addition to the diesel, the Pentastar V6 will also be offered.

No word on pricing yet, or if America will get the same package, but the truck will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
