Welcome to JK ForumsUnsolved Mysteries, a selection of off-the-wall, weird, or mysterious items from the world of Jeep. We’ll be bringing you things you’ve likely never heard of or seen, that take your breath away, or just plain make you say, “What the hell?” If you have ever wanted to expand your garage and get a motorcycle, you’d probably go out and buy a motorcycle. However, in De Pere, Wisconsin, there is a Jeep that truly melds bike and CJ-2A: the Trike Jeep.

Back in March of 2012, a man in De Pere decided to put up his prized Jeep CJ-2A for sale, and eventually sold it for $7,200. Now, a CJ-2 can go for much, much more, but in this case it may have been too much to ask someone to pay a premium for such a customized piece. No, your eyes are not fooling you on this, as there is, in fact, just a single wheel coming off the bumper. This creation is the Trike Jeep, and it’s more than just the removal of the front wheels. It goes much deeper than that.

According an article on eWillys.com, our only source of information on this Jeep, the engine was changed out for a Chevrolet 4.3-liter V6 with TBI injection and a four-speed automatic. Most likely a 700R4, but that’s not mentioned. The body has been stretched 17-inches in the rear section to fit the very custom frame, as it not only got rid of the front axle, but also replaced the rear with a Ford Thunderbird independent rear suspension.

Why on Earth would you want a Trike Jeep? Well, this is a four-seater with Chevrolet Tahoe front seats and a CJ rear seat. The means that you don’t need a helmet, since it fits four people. But you would need to have seat belts. Originally, the owner wanted to trade it for a four-door pickup, a convertible, an SUV, or even a “newer big motorcycle.” It looks like the owner took the cash instead though.

If you have any information about the Trike Jeep or know its whereabouts, please let us know!
