“Jurassic Park” Jeep Owner Still Revels in Creation

Jurassic Park Jeep 2

C’mon, we’ve all experienced it – seen a car in a movie, fell in love with it and then dreamed of recreating one of our own just like it.

The trouble is, most of us never follow through on it for some reason or another.

Not the case with Bob Hattenhauer, as highlighted in a Daily Herald report.

After finally getting around to seeing the movie Jurassic Park in 2007, 14 years after it was first released (yup, late bloomer here, folks), Hattenhauer found himself more intrigued by the Jeeps in the film than the dinosaurs.

Hattenhauer, a mechanical engineering student at the time, set out to build his own version of the Sahara Edition Jeep depicted in the film to cruise around in his home city of Chicago.

However, it wouldn’t be until 2012 that Hattenhauer would finally complete the project using a 1994 Jeep after seeing the movie several more times to duplicate the one in the film.

Now, he cruises around Chicago in his Jurassic Park recreation as his daily driver, sharing his unique love for Jeep with others.
