Killer JK Wrangler Dominates the Trail with 40 Inches of Rubber

Awesome new Jeep build heads out on its maiden voyage on a moderate trail but a tiny problem threatens to end the fun.

The only thing better than finishing a thorough Jeep build is getting that fresh build out on the trails for its maiden voyage. So when YouTuber Intrinsic Motors finished up his killer JK, he was more than eager to test it out. But with new 40-inch tires and a sweet suspension setup, who can blame him? Still, our host resisted the urge to test out his new ride in a proper off-road park. Instead, he hit up a mild local trail to make sure everything was sorted properly.

Things started out pretty good, too. “The Jeep did really good on the highway,” our host notes. “Ran about 75, 80 miles per hour the whole way. Nice, smooth, and straight. It’s gonna be better once we dial in the control arms. An off-road park would not be the best option, obviously, because everything would be slippery and wet. But it’s pretty cool out here because this is a pretty moderate trail.”

We suppose there’s nothing wrong with easing into things. Builds like this cost a ton of dough, of course, so you want to make sure everything’s dialed in properly before hammering on it. Despite this cautionary exercise, however, things quickly go south when our host’s sway bar pops out. But that’s nothing a few zip ties can’t fix, right? Well, maybe not.

Other than that little snafu, the maiden voyage for this Jeep went pretty well. And our host stopped by the shop on his way home and ordered up some new parts, including control arms. So you can bet that there are better, way more exciting days ahead for this killer Jeep build.
