Folks, we need everybody’s help in getting the word out about the recall of the 1.56 million Jeeps first reported back in June.

The recall covers Jeep SUVS from model years 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty and 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee to replace trailer hitches because of an increased risk of fire in the event of a rear-end crash.

However, it appears that most people affected by the issue have yet to bring their Jeep into a dealership. Of the 1.56 million vehicles tied to the recall, less than 10 percent of owners have responded to notifications, according to a Reuters.com news report.

If you own one of the Liberty or Grand Cherokee models mentioned, we strongly urge you to get that Jeep of yours into a dealership to get checked ASAP.
