Wrangler with Half Doors

Flame Red JK Wrangler owners can score a set of Savvy half doors with mirrors and upgraded hinges.

One of the allures of the Jeep Wrangler is the freedom of open-air cruising that comes with removing the top and the doors. For some people, having no doors at all is a bit too free, so half doors are a great option to let in more air while still having the basic security of a standard door. This is great for Jeepers with kids or dogs, but they can be pricy.

Fortunately, allcarfan posted a set of half doors for a JK Wrangler Unlimited in the forum marketplace and they are priced to move.

Introduction

When the OP posted these doors for sale on the forum, he included the sole picture of his Jeep with the doors mounted. Since the picture isn’t the clearest, we have also included a picture of the doors on a white Wrangler from the company website. As for the information, the seller was short and sweet.

“Set of 4 savvy offroad half doors painted flame red. Upgraded hinges. TJ style mirrors. Out on jeep once. No longer needed. Make offer. Want them gone.”

They are listed for $1,400, but the seller is open to offer, so you might be able to get them for even less. How good of a deal is this? We are glad that you asked.

Savvy Half Doors

We looked up these aluminum half doors on the Savvy Off Road website and found that with the upgraded, OEM-style hinges, the front doors cost $689 and the rear doors cost $639. Add on another $100 for shipping and getting these doors from the company to your house will cost about $1,428. Mind you, these doors come from the company in raw aluminum, so you will have to have them prepped, primed and painted to match your Jeep.

Wrangler Half Doors

These doors are listed with a price of $1,400 on the site, being sold in the Atlanta, Georgia, so if you are within driving distance of that area and you have a Flame Red Wrangler Unlimited, you can score these doors for a smokin’ deal. Depending on what type of offers the seller will entertain, you might be able to get them shipped and still save money over buying new, but there are obvious risks with shipping something like painted aluminum doors.

In any case, if you are looking for a set of ready-to-mount half doors for your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, a member in Georgia may be able to hook you up.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
