Poor Wrangler Gets Blasted by Massive Rogue Paint Container
If ever there was proof that ‘Mayhem’ from those Allstate commercials exists in real life, this ruined Wrangler is probably it.
We all have nightmares about something bad happening to our Jeep. Usually, these involve simple things like somebody running into us or perhaps blowing out suspension parts on the trail. But the real world also holds a number of unthinkable hazards. And after seeing this singular photo of a poor Wrangler that popped up on Reddit recently, it had us thinking. Perhaps that guy “Mayhem” from those insurance commercials is real, after all.
Apparently, this poor Wrangler was just chilling in some parking lot when it was violently accosted by a massive container of paint. And while there are other vehicles sitting around it, the Jeep obviously took the brunt of the punishment. That’s really all we know, but we do have a few clues as to what’s happened here thanks to those who chime in and respond to the insane picture.
“Pretty sure this is the type of paint they apply on cement floors because they just finished painting the entrance to the school’s basketball stadium in the same color.” said Knowee. “That’s an IBC. 1000 liters of paint if it was full!” added chillywillylove. “Polyurethane based epoxy,” clarifies deg_ru-alabo. That s*** needs to be jackhammered off (using a chisel sorta bit), especially if it’s poly aspartic. It’s waterproof once it sets, so that Jeep is pooped.”

Clearly, things don’t look so hot for our poor Wrangler. Had this just been some kind of normal paint, perhaps it would be salvageable. But Redditor ThoroldBoy doesn’t think that’s the case at all. “Oh god, is it Methyl Methacrylate? That stuff is expensive and impossible to remove. It’s what you use for highways and heavy traffic cross walks.”
If you want to find some sort of bright side to this situation, at least you could say it might have been worse had the top been left off. Otherwise, it sure sounds like this Wrangler is a total loss. Which is pretty depressing given the fact that it looks basically brand new underneath all that gunk. So we’ll go ahead and add “accosted by a massive paint container” to our list of fears. And somewhere, some insurance actor is probably laughing.
