Delayed. That’s the news coming from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) regarding the future of the new Grand Cherokee.

Initially targeted for 2017, Jeep brand Chief Executive Officer Mike Manley said the redesigned model of the SUV will be pushed back to 2018 or 2019. Manley dropped the news while speaking to a group of journalists at FCA’s annual product showcase known as the “What’s New Program.”

Manley said the Grand Cherokee will undergo a “mild refresh” before its redesign, according to Reuters. The redesign timeline for the Wrangler, however, is still on schedule, says the top level Jeep exec.

Manley also said the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, being touted as a competitor for luxury SUVs like the Range Rover, will begin production in 2018.

Despite the delay, overall, it appears that Jeep’s plan for global domination is still on track, with the company expected to reach its goal of 1.9 million in worldwide vehicle sales by 2018, says Manley.
