Sometimes, it’s just a heap of fun going onto Craigslist and looking through all the weird cars and trucks that people have for sale.

You could get this 1995 Acura Integra “Special Edition” with no engine for $2,500. Or you could get this awesome 1963 Chevy Impala project car that would be a killer lowrider. Or better yet, you could get this 2013 Sport Late Model racecar.

No matter what you find on Craigslist, you know you’ll always find something that’s either ridiculous or something that’s ridiculously cool. This 1985 Jeep Scrambler appears to qualify as the latter.

As with every Jeep from this era, it’s been extensively modified, primarily due to the truck’s ability to completely dissolve itself over time. However, this one actually looks pretty intact, albeit heavily modded.

First off, the engine has been replaced with a 1995 Cummins diesel motor with a NV4500 5-speed transmission coupled to a set of Detroit Lockers. It’s got 456 gears both front and rear, and has an intact whole body roll cage that’s been tied into the frame.

Over all, it looks to be an awesome rock crawling, or strictly off-road vehicle. Obviously though, this car isn’t exactly California street legal, however if you just want to take it off-road, it’s ready and willing to go whenever you are.

But here’s the real question. Would you pay $16,000 for this Scrambler, or is this seller selling you a rotten egg?
