Carmona will add his strong viewpoint and skillful hand to the design aspect of the annual  automotive show in Las Vegas, Oct. 30 – Nov. 2.

The annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada is the place to see the newest and most exiting in innovation and trends in the automotive industry. The show needs to have a strong and compelling aesthetic to engage and represent the industry. This year, SEMA has selected Alex Carmona as its official artist. Carmona’s work will appear in all marketing materials, collateral, signage, digital presence, and, of course, at the show itself. In other words, it is a big gig for an automotive artist, and in Carmona, SEMA has found someone poised to shine.

Carmona’s style is a perfect fit for SEMA. His detailed pieces, including his classic Jeep work, include a truly inspired sense of motion. Not an easy feat to convey in representational art.

“Being named the artist of the 2018 SEMA Show is overwhelming and exciting,” Carmona said. “After seeing last year the impact that art has at the SEMA Show, I’m excited to take on this challenge. I’m looking forward to showcasing my art to the thousands of buyers and exhibitors who will be in attendance.”

Carmona’s work tackles a number of automotive themes, from cars and trucks, to motorcycles, to all aspects of car culture. The 29-year-old Carmona is proficient in several mediums; including fine art in ink and pencil, leather work, wood crafting, sign making, and printmaking. One of his specialties is create relief prints from hand-carved wood or linoleum plates.

“Alex Carmona’s art will help the 2018 SEMA Show experience strike a chord in the heart and soul of our industry,” said SEMA Vice President of Communications and Events Peter MacGillivray. “We work with elite artists from the industry to produce original and authentic artwork for the Show that will resonate with Showgoers.”

“I love to put action into my artwork and have it tell a story,” said Carmona. “I believe all good art will always be appreciated, but if I can tell a story with my art, rather than it just be a pretty car to look at, I will be able to attract more people and guide them to the different areas of the SEMA Show.”

SEMA will be taking place in Las Vegas, October 30 to November 2. To see more of Carmona’s work, check out his website or give him a follow on Instagram.
