Installing an Olympic Smuggler Bumper: How-To Spotlight

Learn how to install an Olympic Smuggler bumper.

Learn how to swap out your stock Wrangler bumper for this great aftermarket setup.

One of the best things about owning a Jeep of any generation (not just the JK) is the ability to customize it in many different ways. And if you go down this route, sooner or later you’re going to run into Olympic’s fine line of aftermarket products. Today’s How-To Spotlight focuses on the brand’s Smuggler bumper option. We can all admit that the factory design of the JK is great. But those of us rocking the acrylic bumper may eventually want to trade up to something a bit stronger. That’s where the Smuggler comes in.

Any off-roading Jeep needs a tougher bumper.

Yes, a bumper swap is a significant upgrade. But the best part of this project is that swapping the factory bumper for a Smuggler unit is a fairly quick process. You’ll be working on your back underneath your Jeep. But you’ll only need a socket set and maybe some lubrication spray, that’s it.

You may find that the hardest part of the entire process is coming up with the funds to purchase your new bumper. Or maybe deciding which bumper to buy. Either way, this will probably take longer than the actual project. We happen to like projects like that.

If you’re looking for a strong, dependable and rugged option for your JK, then the Smuggler bumper is something to seriously consider. Take an hour out of your day and do this installation at home instead of at a dealership or aftermarket shop somewhere. You’ll be happy that you did.
