This Turbo Has a Jeep Wrangler Attached to It
And that turbo has another turbo attached to it.
In terms of unique builds, this 1997 Wrangler is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Described as a compound turbo setup, this Jeep had a tried-and-true straight-six engine, but of the 2JZ variety. Air is forced through Borgwarner S372 and a Holset HX35 turbos, and fuel is managed by the stock ECU with 15 psi ultimately getting to the cylinders.
With simple visual mods, this 20-year-old Jeep looks quite fresh. Pro Comp Mickey Thompson wheels are wrapped in all-terrain tires, and are enclosed under Rubicon fenders. An angry grill with LED headlamps masks the car’s age quite well.

Power from this beast is somewhat conservative. Usually 2JZ builds are pushing for four-digit output numbers, but this is estimated at 350 to the wheels. That’s due mainly to the stock ECU and fuel setup. With more bang added to the mix, horsepower would increase considerably. As would the smiles, and laughs, and driving infractions.
With most Jeeps getting lift kits, this one certainly stands out from the crowd. Clean build aspects make it rather appealing, since anyone who’s a motorhead can appreciate a wire tuck, and more power. Regardless of your automotive preferences, this one is pretty cool. If you want it, its yours for a cool $20,000.
