Jeep SRT8 Embarrasses Two Rams on the Drag Strip

With turbos instead of fog lights, this ain’t your typical grocery-getter or rock-crawler. This Jeep drops some crazy times.

Not all Jeeps are made for off-roading. Sometimes you just want the look of a Jeep but still want to make people look silly on the track. That’s exactly what happens in a recent YouTube video. In the video, a Jeep SRT8 with Twin Turbos is pitted against a variety of vehicles to see which comes out on top. Spoiler alert: The SRT8 destroys them.

We watch a lot of drag racing videos. There’s nothing better than watching two powerful vehicles go up against each other. But watching this Jeep take on a Mustang and two full-sized pickups — and utterly embarrassing them — makes you feel sorry for the other drivers. Seriously, even for a SRT8, this Jeep just shouldn’t be putting up sub-10 second times. But it does. Multiple times.

The most impressive portion of the video is the second half, where the Jeep is racing two Rams. In the race with the first Ram, both vehicles start strong. However, it’s clear the Jeep is in a different league from the Ram and almost instantly starts pulling away.

In the “Street Truck Class Finals,” the Jeep goes against another Ram, and that’s where things truly get interesting. The Jeep has a rough start, compounded with the fact that the Ram has ridiculous torque. Somehow the Jeep not only catches up quickly, but ends up winning by over a second, with a time of 9.44. Wow.

As some commenters pointed out in the video, it’s true that the weight difference between the SRT8 and the Rams played a factor, but these aren’t slow trucks at all. Each Ram put up impressive times against the Jeep, but the Jeep just was in a completely different world on the drag strip.
