Herculined the tub
decided not to pay for Line-x or Rhino, so I tried it myself. Bought some Herculiner and put it on, used 4 coats witch was 1.5 gallons worth. It was a pain, and I didn't get it on my Hootus, but I did get it in my eye, so I had to make a quick run to the emergency room.
here are some pics..

It was a long process and if I had the money, I would have much rather paid for some Line-X or Rhino.

Looks great. Looks like a big job.
Would like to see some pics with the interior back in. Looking to see how the wiring looks.
Been thinking about this or the vinyl flooring or a combination of both. Vinyl in the people compartment and line X in the rear.
Not a fan of the carpets at all.

Yeah I don't like the carpet either, or my leaky top with carpet.
I like the look of the Herculiner in there, don't like the wires that run down the sides of the rear passenger areas. I was thinking of making some type of metal plate that goes over them so my son won't trip on them getting in or out.
I'll take some more pics of it now all back together.

actually it's old story that never dies... it's Hootus (i edited my typo), and it's the male organ... some explorer dude got it on his back in 2000... it became a huge topic and lots of people reference it now, really funny read if you have time...

Got the Herculiner for like $89 at AutoZone. then 2 quarts of it for $29 a piece I think. Then I bought some more paint brushes and the tape and gloves, and SAFETY GOGGLES!!! I got this in my eye and believe me, it hurts! Had to go to the hospital to get my eye flushed and get some goopy stuff to put in it. It scratched my eye in a few places too.

Looks good! Keep us posted on how well it holds up and post some pics with the seats/wiring in. Sure Rhino lining would have been easier, but then you wouldn't have the great emergency room story to tell your kids about how you were almost stricken blind while working on your JK!
