I got PADI certified down in San Diego several years ago. Been diving off the coast of San Diego mostly. Been on a couple of night dives and a couple of boat dives but mostly shore dives out of La Jolla.

I got my certification in Puget Sound a few years ago, am stationed in Guam, and am going to Fiji in a week...and will be going back to the Puget Sound in 6 months.
My favorite dive was in Hawaii, we hit the water and there was a school of manta rays doing laps around us the entire dive

My mistake was getting certified on some of the best diving in the world: The Philippines. My next assignment was Biloxi, MS and we would go to Florida panhandle. It sucked compared to P.I. And it was outrageously expensive (I could hire a private boat for my buddy and me for $5 for a half day in the P.I.; it was $85 for two dives in 80 feet of water in FL). My next assignment was Guam: I was psyched! Then, eight days on the island and I twisted my leg so bad that I split the top of my femur. Surgery, wired knee and a cast for two months. Then another six months recuperating while using crutches. I did get to dive Guam a little, before leaving after a year tour. Finally, Oklahoma. Diving in Oklahoma? Yeah, right. But, last year I did take my Scouting Venture Crew out and get them all certified. They loved it, even though the visibility was about 5-6 feet in one of the local lakes. Nothing like the routine 100-200 foot visibility in the tropical waters of the P.I.
