Yup - the cruise control write up is considerably better than what I've been looking at! Thanks!

Every time I go to the dealership...they charge more and more. When I said I’d change the clockspring by myself, they said I’d have to reprogram the new clockspring. Did you have to have the clock spring programmed when you installed it?

You just plug it in and then reconnect your battery terminals, there's no programming required. It's really not a tough job.

You have a 2010... your clockspring has a recall... so, unless you've had it changed during the recall and then broke it again, you are owed a new clockspring free of charge.

I just brought my 2009 in this past week for the clock spring and air bag recalls. It took them about 4-5 hours to do both jobs. Dropped it off at 7am, they called around 12pm to tell me it was ready. All done free of charge. Dealership also gave me a free loaner, a 2017 Chysler 300M with 15K miles on it.

Default airbag light on short + radio and speakers

I have an 08 but a while back our puppy chewed the wires under both seat. Thought is was fixed but now airbag light back on. We replaces the chewed wires and it seemed to be fine for a while. But now the airbag light is always on and my radio goes on and off at random times and the volume changes at random.

Any one have any suggestions? I would change the clock spring if that would work but I also have a radio short also.

Thanks Dan

Default Can not see photos.

How do I download the images?

I have my airbag light on and my navigation and radio turns on and off at random, and changes the volume at random. I did have a puppy chew up the wires under the seats but that was fixed for a while. At least it seemed fixed for a few months

Default Broken Cruise Control

Bought a used 2008 jk unlimited earlier this year and the cruise control never worked. Today I replaced the switch with a cheap one from amazon and still does not work.
Would replacing the clock spring be the next logical fix attempt?

I have no issues with airbag lights/beeps, turn signal, wipers... just the cruise control.

thanks for any help.

great write up on how to replace the clock spring.

the horn on my 2007 Rubicon unlimited quit working and my local garage is thinking it's the clock spring ($420 plus 1 hour labor) to replace. That said, my airbag has been intermittently lighting up. They checked it out and said it was something to do with the clock spring, cleaned the contacts and it should be working fine. My PCM ($1050 plus 1 hour labor) has been acting up so I'm wondering if all these are related somehow........... went in for a bad O2 sensor......
