Question to the Jeep owners down under.
Hi there,
I was looking through a pdf of the 2008JK parts book, and I noticed a different style tow hook from the one offered in the states. Do you get these with your JKs?
Just wondering as it would make an interesting place for a shackle.
Thanks!

We get one of these front and back, I think its more a tie down point for shipping although my dealer assured me it can be used for recovery but I wouldnt be too game unless I really had to.
P.S I dig yellow Jeeps!! Wish I was patient enough to wait for one.

Daveaus,
Thanks for the information. Just looking though parts manual did not tell me much. I know the hooks we have are strong enough to pull the JK out of trouble. I just like the idea of putting a shackle through the hole for an easy mounting point.
I love having the Yellow. I see them on the roads around here, but they are not the most popular for the off roading JK owners. You know which JK is mine in all the pictures of our trail rides! My first vehilce was a 1971 Chevy El Camino yellow with a black vinyl top. Loved that truck! Ever since that one it has been white or red or grey trucks. Had to get the yellow 4-door when my last truck was ready to be traded.
Thanks.

Yep, I'm not convinced it would make the best recovery point, and would prefer the D-shackle ones Quadratech sell, if I fould afford them with the exchange rate, ideally also fit the plactic factory covers to hide them and make them road friendly.

Sure. All I have to go off is the draawing I attached.
I wouldn't mind an aftermarket bumper as well, but my exchange rate isn't very good right now either... The cash is low after Christmas, and my wife is threatening to take away my credit card.

Hi,
You can only mount it towards the ground, doesn’t work the other way around, I tried when I put the US bumper on. Ordered US hooks instead.
Owe and they are as strong as the US ones if ever.
