You lucky, lucky dawg....
Retired CPO myself. Two tours in Rota. First one, 19, single and absolutely LOVED IT! What a place to be, especially back in the 80's. Can't talk or think about that place without a smile which, pisses off the current Mrs. Oh well, it was my youth and I enjoyed every minute of it. LOL.
If you are single be sure to get out and enjoy the local "fare". Good Stuff. If not, welp I got nothing. But either way, do get out and enjoy Spain beautiful place, awesome people, great food. Also in a good launching spot to see the rest of Europe so be sure to exploit that to the maximum.
Good Luck and thank you for your service.

I was there in 92 for about 4 days. First stop on Med. cruise. I was 19. Loved it. There was some kind of "gypsy area" outside the gate that I remember we had to sprint through. Sangria makes you sloooow! I'm stuck in S.E. MI. Jealous.
