Starbuck, always great to have another vet onboard. I was a diesel mechanic on USS Coronado LPD-11 (amphibious landing ship) for four years. We usually embarked about 1,000 Marines at Moorhead City and sailed them anywhere they needed to be. I used to snipe Mike-6 boats and LCVPs myself. Did you ever enjoy one of our "Luxury Cruises"? Owen
I did. UNITAS in 93 and a Med in 95. I was USMC AAVs. You didnt pick us up in Moorehead though. You swung by Onslow Beach and we swam out to you.
To recognize the members of our community who are on active duty or served in the Armed Forces we are now offering a new profile icon in the colors of the five different services. There will be a short vetting to verify service. Please post here if you are interested, a staff member will followup as time permits. Canadian vets are welcome! Thank you for your service!
