I was raised racing CL-16's with my father. Then he bought a Santana 25'. He and I were the only ones in the family to use it so he sold it and we started racing 19' Lightnings. He broke down and sold it a few years after I was in college and got a CL-14 for times when we could get out. Sadly it is now gone and the boats have been replaced with motorcycles.
I miss it but he and I can go out on the bikes and not sit and fry in the middle of the lake when the wind stops. I don't miss that...

Those are nice looking boats, you think they have enough crew?
I sail a Prindle 18 Cat and a Dory, also race as crew on Nacra 20's with spinnaker, real fast boats.
Jersey you really should get on one this summer, you'll won't regret it.

Must have throttle, preferably on a Fountain (Hush... I can dream)
Wife's cousin had a Hobie Cat down in N Havana... used to have a regatta around Key Biscane(sp)... one year there was no blow, took nearly 9 hours

www texas200.com did this race in a 16' newport I salvaged from a back yard. 5 days and 200 miles solo with winds over 20mph most days was daring at times. Met some great people and had a wonderful time. Hoping to get a bit bigger boat to take the wife out in some time.

Wow sailing
Well this is what I used to do for a living. I was a sailmaker in Muskegon Mi and would spend 5 days a week on the water. I have raced everything from Butterflies, J24, J35, Santa Cruz 70's, 12 Meters and I still own a Farr 40 One Tonner in MI.
I have Raced 14 Chicago Mackinac races and 9 Key West Race Weeks. I am a jack of all on a boat and there is nothing I cant do. Duct Tape can fix almost everything on a boat.
I left sailing to earn a really good living in California. We go to San Diego and rent a 40ft. Beneteau for a day every year.

raced sailboats years ago
Did a allot of buoy racing in J27 and Beneteau in Hudson River and some great distance racing on a J44 (vineyard, Around Long Island, etc) a few years back (before married life and the twins). Would like to get back into sailing sometime soon.
