I have sailed several times with friends and found it very enjoyable. It was definitely a stress reliever. Maybe I will own a sailboat one of these days.

Believe it or not I see guys doing that in ice water. Of course they are wearing dry suits. But the dry suits don't always save them.

I use to race lasers about ten years ago and loved it. But then the club i was in pretty much went down the drain. I still go out with my dad on his 30ft cutter every now and then, but thats almost to relaxing. Im always looking for a good deal on a 29er but they seam next to impossible to find, and when they are there the money isnt .

I love sailing, especially night sailing. I've done a bit of racing as well. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. We are trying for a little one so the sailboat is on the market. No matter how hard I try, I can't convert my wife into a sailor.

I learned the "ropes" on a 25' Santana, on Lake Tahoe over 30 years ago. Sure was fun. What I really remember was how neat it was to go fast and it be so quiet..

Same here, sailing on the local reservoir in our Tangerine 18' trailer sailor. Took in in the bay once but my wife was a little nervous (it was pretty rough). She wants a bigger boat

I sail with a friend sometimes on his Catalina 30. Wouldn't mind getting one myself.

Growing up my dad was a motor-boater. I decided to teach myself to sail, read a couple of books, then rented small sailboats and fell in love with sailing. For me there is just nothing like the feeling that your using your knowledge of nature to move around for free.

I got the bug so bad, I am in the process of building my first boat. It's an Ian Oughtred designed MacGregor sailing canoe:

I thought I was a pretty good wood worker when I started. Now I realize I was just a "table saw operator."

All the curves definitely require some skill, and requires a lot of use of hand tools. I even bought several books on sail making, but I am not sure I am up to that task.
