What I use is the AutoHome roof top tent mounted on a Gobi Rack. The model I have is called the Maggiolina. As you can see on the reply from 56willyswagon, you can use it either on the roof or an offroad trailer. If you go to autohomeusa.com you'll find all the info. you need. Can't beat the comfort level it offers. I make my living as a Nature & Wildlife Photographer and work in Alaska much of the time. So having something that offers extreme protection is very important.

For those of ya'll talking about trailers, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Jumping Jack trailer...figured I would throw that option out there since I don't believe it was mentioned. I've been in one, and like the size, features, and price.

I should have mine in about 2 weeks. It's made by car Top Camper and is far less expensive than many others, but very well made. My local jeep club did a group buy and we got them at a great price. It's a 3 man tent that is 94"L x 72"W x 48"H when opened up. It will fit the top of my trailer prefectly and make a nice base camp area. I'll post pics once I get it in.

This thread really makes me drool at the thought of warmer weather...

Oh how I wish I were still in Colorado for the sunny/warm days in winter!

Got mine installed last weekend, haven't been out camping yet, but should in the next few weeks. It's quite spacious as the interior is 6' x 9'. It has nice big screen windows on all sides for great ventilation and the insulated floor will help keep the chill away during colder weather. First time up took about 10 minutes, shoudl only take about 5 minutes going forward.

Love my ARB Roof-Top-Tent, but many advantages to having on a trailer vs. top of vehicle as originally designed. I would personally hate to pack up camp everytime you drive instead of being able to establish a base camp by simply unhooking the trailer.
