Headed out this weekend to hike Eagle Rock Loop in AR. Always been a tent guy, but trying the hammock on this trip. Looked at Hennessy, war bonnet and others but couldn't justify the cost for my first.
I bought an ENO double nest and worked with it to get the sag that works for me. SUPER comfortable. Will save me a lot of weight in my pack.
Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

If you're looking to save weight and pack lite, I'd also recommend the Helinox Chair. Can't hold your beer but you'd be really surprised how much weight it can handle. It is super comfy...

Thought I'd update...hammock was awesome!! While the rest of the group struggled to set up tents in the pouring rain, I hung my tarp first and had nice dry experience hanging the hammock. It rained all day Friday and Saturday. Spent two nights in the hammock. I will never sleep in a tent again. (Unless car camping, even then....hammocks WAY better!
Buddy had a Hennessy and mine is an ENO doublenest. Saturday night the wind blew pretty hard while raining, got to the upper 40s I was completely warm with and old school blue foam pad between my hammock and sleeping bag. My bag is a north face Goliath 0-degree. Never even zipped it.

Love my Eno Double and straps. Quick set up with one side attached to Jeep roll bar and the other to a tree allows for setup almost anywhere on any terrain. Quick break down too and storage in the built in pouch, so nothing gets lost.
