Default Brown mountain OHV in NC

Looking at this place for a change of scenery. I've never been there and I'm hoping to get some thoughts and reviews from some people that have been there. Any Information is greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine has been there. Reported that it's a nice place but not difficult for a jeep.

Default Worth a trip for sure

I've been there with my son, but on a dirtbike trip. The "main" trail is really a fire road up the mountain, and we did come across quite a few Jeeps and 4x4's making their way up and down the road. It is a mixture of dirt road climbing with some loose rock sections mixed in. It would be fun in a Jeep, with a couple of opportunities to play on dirt piles, some standing water (depending on season) and at least one decent hill climb. Nothing really challenging, but a lot of fun nonetheless!

There are lots of options for dirtbikes/ATVs/etc. that can squeeze through some of the smaller trails and single track.

Certainly worth the time to explore it. Enjoy it if you do!

There is also Lake Houser near Shelby. Have not been in awhile. But, from from website and youtube pics it looks a lot rougher than when I went. Have not been to Brown mtn. Also, Richland rd. Near Blowing Rock. Heard the locals that live off posted a lot of no trespassing signs!

Hurricane Creek Rd is near Asheville also and was fun. Nothing really challenging in a Wrangler, but worth the drive up for the scenery. Nice the whole way up and spectacular views from the top. Creek crossings and a few rocky spots to play on.
