Did this two years ago in NJ. Great time and proudly showed the bruises and blue lips from getting close to hypothermic. Congrats!

Im doing my first in october! Super excited, my buddy said it kicked his ass, and thats sayin something.

I've done Warrior Dash and did a 4.2mi local Mud Run barefoot. It was a fun time. Warrior Dash was a blast, with the large beers and turkey legs, not to mention the live bands all day. I felt pretty hard core afterwards, lol.
I'd like to do the Marine Corps course in a year or two.

I did the Survivior Mud Run last year when I lived in Cali. It was a blast! Wear some comfortable shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting submersed in mud and a waterproof camera! Some people wear funny outfits during it, my buddies and I went to a second hand store and got business suits and ties. Its so much fun! Good luck!!

Marine Corps Course? Like the Obstacle course at Pendleton or MCRD in San Diego? Ive done the 8k mud run in north carolina, hungover as hell, still, great event!

Wife and I did warrior dash this past March and we are doing it again in October and another run called Jail Break. She also scheduled to do Tough Mudder and a couple of others. I'm just to lazy for all that.

Congrats! I ran it in VA last year (held at Wintergreen ski resort). We had a blast but man, it was COLD!!!! At start time is was 33 degrees. Finished it with my team but broke my tail bone around mile 6 on an obstacle....

jgw1985 08-04-2012 09:55 AM

Plan on getting my first tough mudder next year! Excited!

I finished my first tough mudder in Dallas this last march. It was a great time.a lot tougher than expected.

I too have finished my first Tough Mudder event (and first "road race" ever) back on July 15th at Mount Snow, VT...it was amazing!!

cstrait37 08-25-2012 07:09 PM

I did Mt. Snow VT in May... Most rIdiculous thing ever... Especially because it was May in VT. ALL water was 38-40 degrees... Would I do it again?

YES! (in a warmer climate).

Congrats to all who participated and completed the mudder!

A month ago, while sitting at a bar, drunk with some friends, I was challenged to do Tough Mudder here in Missouri. I had 30 days to prepare my body for the workout of its life. I accepted and that was my last beer.

I have completely changed my diet and ran 4 times a week. Each week I tried to go farther, learning about pacing and understanding what my legs are telling me. Week 1, I couldnt finish 3.5 miles in an hour. Week 2, I forced my way to 5 miles. Week 3, I focused on healing and pacing; again at 5 miles. Week 4, I felt like I could run forever. Only holding back and not wanting to hurt myself a week before the race- I stopped at 7 miles. I'm down 15 lbs and sleeping better then ever.

My neighbor has run 5 marathons, last year he told me he tried Tough Mudder and had to drop out cause he couldnt finish. This scared me, but i was pressing on.

Through the diet change and caffene withdrawls this is most definitly the hardest thing I have mentally and physically put myself through(I know some may be laughing at that, but for me its true). In a little less than 36 hours, I will start my race, and at the end when I force myself through that last obstical and get shocked by 10000 volts, I will yell 5 words: "I Wooped That Mudders Ass!!!!"

On oct 27 my wife and I are doing the zombie dash in st. Louis. 5k and get chased by zombies. Party afterwards...should be a blast. Also did a 5k in town this past weekend for a charity. Good cause and good times!

I did Warrior Dash in May and did TM this past Saturday. Both were a blast and Ive already signed up again for next year.

My girlfriend and I, along with my boys did a Rugged Run a few months ago. They're addicting! Looking for the next one in my area to do.

I think it would be cool to create one where your jeep was involved, and instead of running from obstacle to obstacle, your jeep has to go through it's own obstacles too.

icrashbikes 10-16-2012 08:08 AM

Did the tri state mudder last year. It was a ton of fun! Except for that whole 10k volt shock-the-crap-out-of-you thing...

Tough Mudder Vermont 2011 and 2012... the free T-shirts get better every year!

Bravo to anyone who's ever done anything like it (Warrior Dash, Spartan Race, etc..) and if you haven't tried a Tough Mudder you should! It's a great time for a great cause.

mjtx88 10-16-2012 10:41 AM

I did the Tough Mudder on Mt. Snow in VT in May 2012. Had a blast! I learned that diving into a 50 degree lake and immediately climbing up a 45 degree hill causes my quads to cramp...lol.

JDScott10 10-16-2012 05:07 PM

Anybody know what happened to that Mark guy and his inspirational story?

obaki69 10-22-2012 11:15 AM

Just did my first Tough Mudder last weekend in Missouri. Loved it.

CerOf 11-27-2012 10:57 AM

I did the Warrior Dash with my wife up by the speedway here in North Texas a couple of years ago. It was easy.

Now the TOugh Mudder? I won't do. My wife did it and it honestly is Tough. She's run marathons and she found the Tough Mudder more difficult.

I'm doing the Tough Mudder in August in Vermont. I can't wait. 12 miles with 35 obstacles..!!! Awesome..!!!

Saharaunlmtd 09-27-2013 06:05 PM

Bump this up. I'm thinking about doing a obstacle course in November at a ski resort which puts you in the water 3 times.

Any advice on what to wear for the extreme temps?

Bishopburr 10-30-2013 09:45 PM

I did Tough Mudder SoCal day two at Snow Valley a couple years ago.
Wore shorts and a long sleeved tech tee.
It was 32 degrees at the start, and at the top of the mountain some say it was about 10 degrees with 30-40 mile an hour winds. Everything was frozen over. It actually started snowing at one point. The day before people were getting sunburned and were warm. It was a crazy change of weather.
I can honestly say that was the most miserable time of my life. I have never been so cold.
With that said, I wish I would have worn a wetsuit that day.
If the weather is warmer, you will be fine in tight fittings shorts and a shirt. All quick drying fabrics.

RubiX14 11-04-2013 01:16 AM

Did the Austin Tex one last this year. I will be signing up for the central Tx one soon think its in Temple this time. They are the only thing that helps me motivate to get in a shape other than round. LOL
