Gladiator / Gear ratios

I've noticed that most Gladiators in the market have only 3.73 gear ratios with the option of upgrading to 4.10 using a tow package. I currently have a JK on 35" Duratracs, 3 inch lift kit and 4.10 gears and it can be a slug on the highway. Can a Gladiator pull 35" tires with those 3.73 gears and NO LIFT? A lot of people seem to running this rig. What am I missing?

3.6L engine 265HP..I checked you're running a '07 with a 3.8L..

Yeah? Not answering my question here.

OK.. I run 33s on a 3.73 JKU.. can't advise on 35s & very pleased with the performance (not a slug).. The point was the 3.6L in the Gladiator is 285 hp and 265lbft in torque vs a 3.8L with 202hp and 237lbft torque. Hopefully a member with a 3.6 JKU or JT with 35s can provide more info.

Don't forget you're talking different transmissions too. I'd be shocked if that 8-speed transmission is doesn't make a big difference as well.

@Mark Doiron is probably a good person to advise on this with owning both a 3.8L and the Gladiator.

Thanks for reply! That makes total sense. It sounds like the JT would not have issues handling 35's with an 8-speed auto trans based on the specs.

The gladiator auto tranny is amazing! 4:10's and 35's will not be a problem! The engine has some upgrades since the JL came out, and is a little stronger... but the tranny makes it really great! I can go slow down hills in 2wd using the manual setting on the auto tranny... and it holds better than the Jk I have in 4low. The 4wd low cruze control for crawling is cool too... lets you pic a speed offroad on a trail and it will hold it through an section of trail!

I purchased 2020 Gladiator with Ripp Supercharger and LT 37x12.50R20 tires. Shipped it to overseas. now having problem changing gears smoothly. Please help me for any advice.

I've known a few people with RIPPs that complain about shifting issues and can't get a good enough tune to be really happy with it. Everyone is always thrilled about the extra horsies under the hood, but always complains about the tuning and shifting. I feel like you got a long road ahead where you are located. Sorry I can't be of much help outside of noting you're not alone. Also, my understanding is RIPP's customer service isn't exactly great.

I don't think you will have an issue as that supercharger will have that engine fried in no time. Check out "The Story till Now" on YT. He had a Gladiator with a RIPP and it did not last long. He took it off, fixed the engine and sold the whole vehicle. If you want power do a V8 conversion to a lower HP (<400) unit not a 600HP one.
