Phoenix Technoligies shotgun stock suck

already posted this else were but trying to stop others from haveing the same problem I had.
I have a Mossberg 500a With a 20" barrel and full length tube. I had a Phoenix Technoligies kicklite stock on it. after a couple trips to the range I thought I was comfortable enough with it I could use it for home/camp defense. Today I was getting the gun out of my closet so I could put stuff behind it. I didnt have the stock clear of the door jam all the way when I turn and the stock hit the edge of the wall. THE STOCK BROKE!!! Thats all it took! Its a good thing it wasn't an emergency. Or even worse an emergency while camping. I emailed Phoenix Technoligies and will post there response. spent about $100 + shipping on the thing
Any body got any good Shotgun stock Ideas

Check out the Mesa Tactical stocks. They aren't cheap but they are all metal, can get them in a straight line recoil or dropped, and you have the option of a hydraulic buffer system or not. The buffer system really does drop the recoil by an amazing amount. Just be prepared to spend somewhere around $350. I can't tell you how many of these I have installed for customers once I let them shoot mine. I currently have it on two of my own and just installed one on a shotgun I am building for my sister.

Thanks for the tip. I am seriously thinking about getting a regular hugue stock and calling it good.

Got an email from Phoenix technoligies and I am impressed with there customer service. The are going to send me a new stock AND refund my money. So I am going to give them a second try.

JMHO:

I would sell it and double my money (well, maybe not double), and buy something better. Here is my rationale-

You can sell the stock that they send you as a NIB item, with 100% honesty. If the second one breaks, you will not be able to sell it, and will have to either eat it or hope they send you another one again. Even if they do send you a third one, you will have to go through the headache of dealing with them and waiting again. IMO, if there was no obvious flaw in the first one and it broke that easily, I wouldn't trust a second one.

Again, JMHO.

+1 on that. If I have seen a massive failure I tend not to put it on something I am planning to depend upon. Now I might still put it on another gun to see if it was just bad luck.

Stock is made out of a synthetic plastic similar to the regular stocks. It looks like a M-4 6 postion stock. It has a recoil reduction system on it like the Blackhawk Knoxx stocks. I broke at the recoil reduction conection. For shooting claybirds all day it would be ok for shooting 2 legged predators FORGET IT
