Help with wheels

Hi all, just got an 06 TJ 2 dr. Stock with steel 15" wheels. Can someone tell me what's the largest tire I can put on without lifting it. Going to mainly be DD and some easy trail riding.

Thanks!!

I'm not a TJ expert but I'm pretty sure (like 95%) sure it's a 31" tire max without flat fenders. Hopefully somebody can confirm that? :dontknow2:

Above is correct. 31 is max but if used with stock wheels a 10.50 wide 31 will rub the lower control arm.

See, I wouldn't have known that. Never was allowed to have a TJ when I was younger. I assume spacers/better BS solves that issue?

Thanks for the responses, I really don't want to go with spacers (trying to control cost). I was thinking of the duratracs 235/75/15... Any rub issues on those?

I ran 31X105s on my TJ, no lift, couple of extra washer on the steering stops up front, stopped the rubbing, or course slightly reducing my turning radius.
