Intermittent Key Fob 2007 Cherokee

2007 Grand Cherokee (base WK).
Both fobs started doing this at the same time so battery or soldering issues would be odd.
I can get in manually and turn the truck over, so just the lock/unlock on the fobs is not always working.
Processes tested:
Get out right after turning off the jeep, use the fob(s) to lock/unlock - no problem (repeated this over a couple minutes and still no issues).
Wait longer and walk away (15+ minutes and go into a store) - they won't work UNTIL I start the truck, then they work again.
Open manually and start the truck and the other fob in hand works in or out of the truck (ie; they either both work or don't relative to restarting).
Leave the key in the ignition over night to test the time issue, pull the key from the ignition without starting, step out of the truck - fob works.
It's like they're losing their programming and re-programming on their own.
