i maybe picking up an xj in the next month or so. i was just wondering what kind of lift i'm going to be looking at in order to run stock rubi tires? 32's? any problems that i should be looking for. it's mainly just going to be a 2nd vehicle and all around grocery getter, but still need it to be looking somewhat tuff compared to the heep....

You will need at least a 2 lift with bushwacker cutouts or flat panels. The 84-96 xj's have a bigger front wheel opening so you might actually get away with a 2 inch lift and stock flares. As for the 97-01 you will tear the factory flare off with a 2" lift and 32"s. I was running 3.5 lift and 31's and tore them off my 97. I'm guessing the wheels are off you jk? If that is case you will also need wheel adaptors. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your input. I haven decided it I will run jk wheels or just run the stock xj wheels... I'm pretty sure the xj is an 84-96. Another question is are all xjs the uni bodies. Any general problems I should be looking for in this xj? the one I am picking up it has been dying while driving down the road just randomly. any ideas???
