Yes!!! Another Dash board Chopper!!! Looks great. I swear Jeeps should come with a Spot in the Dash to mount your CB/HAM radio equipment.

Setup a 980 SSB with a K40/K30 NGP antenna tonite. I got down to 1.30 SWR. Everything checks out except the weatherbands are disfunctionally weak? I had read that this model had unusually good weather band reception..go figure. I've not permanently mounted it yet, using the 12V dash outlet, and wedged between the passenger seat and console for now.

i have a 980 in our motor coach...since 9/2012....
its loosing the LCD display - its getting faint and the left side of every segment is almost too dim to see/read...
I'm NOT happy and will need to investigate warranty etc - or ill move to something better

I just got the 980, installed over the r v mirror, still working on my antenna, so far I haven't been able to get the swr below 2.5 by the meter in the radio

Well, I sent the uniden 980 back and got a president McKinley radio, I like it much better, it's smaller, the display is a lot easier to see, especially with the top off
