Default Can i secure my antenna with thread locker?

I have a 4' firestick... is it OK to secure it with red thread locker?

The threaded shaft is a conductor, so I'll say no. But, if you ensured that the very bottom of the antenna made good contact with the mount (which they do not, typically) you would be okay.

If you decide to try it, be sure to check your standing wave afterward.

to check that standing wave... do i do that with the SWR meter?

Red threadlocker is almost permanent. Use the blue stuff if you ever want to remove.

i was thinking about that... conductivity is what i am afraid of.

I use a little dab of blue. Haven't had a problem with SWR or signal quality. I used red accidentally on one, it's never coming off. Stick with the blue stuff or even purple if you use anything.

Blue is the way to go then!
I'm guessing blue will be hard enough for thieves to quickly take the antenna but not as permanent so i can remove it if needed.
