I am newbie in CB radio and recently bought President Tommy equipment and Indy antenna. I have fixed the antenna on roof top replacing the car radio antenna. Under roof connected the coax from CB radio. Is this a good location as its not center of the roof and also the antenna is not 90 degree vertical. Please see the picture attached. I cant make it 100% vertical without modifying the antenna holder on roof top. Also that makes more height to antenna makes it difficult in some parking areas. Any performance issue if the antenna is slightly angled?Click image for larger version

Are you aware that you are on a Jeep forum? A vertical antenna would receive a better signal, and placing the antenna just slightly ahead of the center of your roof is ideal.

At least his Toyota Yaris is on dirt, sad that some built JKs won't even see that.

I have to admit that the jeep forums have some of the best info on CB radios and mounting.

It's a lot to comb trough but you can see a couple ways throughout this thread. A lot of folks that mount in the rear run the ground through the tailgate and ground on the tub of the Jeep.

Try looking thru the articles on this stores website- Right Channel Radios. They have a wealth of useful information.
When I saw the picture of a car, I was a bit surprised, why the 'aware' comment. There are some over zealous jeep owners who absolutely hate anything other than a jeep.

You know...I hate to say this...I have the product in which you mount the antenna between THE TIRE MOUNT and the TAIL GATE. It talks as far as any other CB I've ever had in 40 years. Also...aren't you setting yourself up for a possible lawsuit by bad mouthing this type of mount? Just saying! As far as I'm concerned...it's the best spot!
