Default 2012 JK Sport - Interior Dome & License Plate LEDs

Hi!

I'm looking to update my dome and license plate lights to LEDs. However, when doing research online, I'm seeing so many different options, some very expensive and others not. I've also read about the LEDs blinking when removing the key, etc. I saw the Northridge package, but looks like that is for the JK Unlimited and that doesn't include the license plate.

Can anyone please attach some specific links to LEDs that will be "plug-n-play" in my dome and license plate? I'm hoping to only spend around $20-$40 total. Bright white is good ... colors are fun, too ... I appreciate any help given.

THANK YOU!!!

I can only help with the dome lights. I have the Putco setup from Northridge in my 2-door.

The light output is much, much better than stock. I have the white ones, and they're almost icy white. With the white exterior on my JK, it's like opening the door on a new refrigerator.

They are not without issues, though. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any setup that isn't.

The putco's handle the stock theater dimming feature just fine, as well as normal operation on/off. When I first installed them, they were a bit blinky, but that has since gone away--and I've read is a typical experience, almost like a break-in period.

The only time I get an intermittent blink is when I turn the engine over with the dome lights on. But that's comparable to a regular incandescent dome light that gets really dim. In LED land, they flash because of the voltage irregularity on startup. Simple fix-- close the door first.

License plates.. I'd buy a replacement 194 in an LED version and try that first.

Default LED's

I installed 2 LED's in the front dome light and a single LED in the rear dome light. Strange thing. After I did that the map lights remained on while driving. Really odd. Didn't have much time to research it... Just an FYI. Might want to do some research. I bought mine from superbrightleds.com

At superbrightleds, they list two light bulb types. 578 LED CAN Bus Bulb - 1 LED Festoon or 578 LED Bulb - 9 LED Festoon. Which ones goes to dome/soundbar and which one goes to cargo/rear seat light for a 2012 JKU? I have read through thread after thread and I am still confused. Thanks.
