New to forum - have an issue that I hope someone can help. Jeep is an automatic with 134k miles.

Jeep started stalling with rough idle, did some research and thought it was the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) - dealership did not have the part - so got one from AutoZone. Replaced the CPS and initially was good, but then things got worse. Now have a CEL with the red lightening bolt. Pulled the codes and got:

P0642 Sensor Reference Voltage A Circuit Low
P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit
P2122 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D" Circuit Low Input

Got the codes twice (repeat codes).

I tried to trouble shoot the CPS by taking it out and inspecting the connections (cleaned it) and checked the wires, then reinstalled but did not work. The guys at AutoZone seem to think it might be a grounding issue or the computer going bad. I checked the grounding wires (only found 3) but all seems good.

Anyone have something similar or know what it could be? The dealerships are on a 3-4 week wait (thanks to Hurricane Sally). Thank you in advance!

 

I don't know that this plays into it but when it comes to sensors the only option for me is original equipment. Seems like autopart stores stuff is really hit and miss. If that was mine, I think I'd be getting a Mopar sensor before completely ruling that out the sensor itself.

Might be easier to just grab it off eBay if you have the Mopar part number. That is typically where I go since the dealers around me are worthless for supply. They are always nice to tell me they can order it. Why bother ordering it and driving to dealer when it can go straight to your door.

 

Never bought anything from EBay, but I’ll give it a go. 😀

 

I always check Amazon and eBay for the actual Mopar numbers. Most of the time the eBay sellers are just other dealers around the country.

 

Thank you! Quick update. Dealer actually had the part, got it installed. At first ran great, smooth idle and no stalling. Turned left onto my street and it stalled and died. Back to square one. 🤬. Might try the cam sensors.
