Default 2012 left speakers dropping in and out

I have a 2012 2dr Rubicon with the Infinity premium sound system. I’ve replaced the stock head unit with an Alpine ilx-507 and iDatalink Maestro RR to retain steering wheel controls and amp. Everything was working great until about two weeks ago. Driving over a bump knocks out the left speakers, next bump kicks them back on, then off, then on, rinse and repeat for the whole drive. Sometimes it takes a bigger jolt to get the cycle going again. I can smack the dash just below the off-road buttons on the speaker grill and they’ll roar back to life until the next bump, but this also doesn’t always work. They all turned off once and came back on over the next bump. I never noticed how bad my local roads, even the one just completely redone, are. Too many manholes, uneven seams, and patchwork. The two wire connectors at the amp seem fine, nothing appears to be loose. What would be the culprit? Dying amp? Loose/broken wire? Problem started with the soft top on and continued after I put the hardtop on yesterday. Also might be time for new/better shocks. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to JK Forum I would go for the Broken/Loose Wire connection.. Did you solder connections? Use Butt Connectors? What was the ambient temp? If one twisted the wire connections and in COLD the connections shrink and come loose.

Every connection was plug and play, no soldering needed. It was probably in the 70’s when it was installed.

i was asking about the TEMP when it does this cut out.. Being plug and play would not be affected by Temp.. twisted wire connections shrink in Cold and can lose connection.. Good Luck on it.
