Default 2013 JK Airbag Light!

OK, need some direction. 2013 2 Door JK.

Airbag light just started coming on Friday on the way home. Comes on, goes off etc. Not on all the time. Some people suggested the Clock spring, not sure if that has been fixed yet, but horn still works, and the cruise still works, have aftermarket radio so those controls don't work.

Took apart the steering area, cleaned all the dirt and grime out, figured that might be the issue, but no change. So you got suggestions?

Wish it would come on and stay one, just the on and off all the time with the DAMN ding is a pain. Any help needed. Thanks

I have a 2008 and mine just started dinging on/off about 2 weeks ago. Took it in to have clockspring replaced this past weekend and it was resolved.

Ended up replacing the clock spring. There is a recall out there you have to ask about. They extended it for the Jeeps. Lucky me, got it in when I was going out of town and they got it changed for me.

For clarification. There's two different repair responses for the clock spring.

2007-2010 - RECALL - Jeep will replace the clock spring regardless of it being in failure mode.

2011-present - EXTENDED WARRANTY - in this scenario, your clock spring must be in failure mode (and diagnosed as such by the dealer). They will then replace it under warranty.

Do you know how long this "extended warranty" is good for? Just curious.

Not sure. I found out about it in 2016 when my 2011 had the failure. A friend of mine that works at the dealer told me about it.
