Alpine vs. Pioneer

I don't know, but I'd be happy to sell it if it would. I'll check the model number and maybe one of the experts around here can chime in. I suspect it would work. For manufacturing simplicity and economics, this thing should be plug and play, given that your Jeep is also a 2008.

After reading this thread and looking into the Pioneer headunit, I’m convinced on getting one myself. Have you had any issues with the unit this far?? Likes / Dis-likes???

Sort of unrelated, I just installed this same Pioneer head unit into a Corolla (it was a favor). I was pretty impressed with how well it works and I'm considering upgrading in the Jeep because of it.

I bought the NEX4201, which came with a backup camera. The only thing I don't like is the camera. It is horrible at night and I'll probably end up replacing it with one with infrared. Other than that the unit is great. In installed the gear bypass so I can turn the camera on whenever I want. I use it a lot as a rearview mirror replacement, when its light out.

Well, it was finally installed Friday night. I had to cancel a couple of times due to work related issues, but this thing is GREAT! It works flawlessly with my Pixel 3XL, and the speakers sound better than they did with the factory unit. (I thought the factory unit sounded pretty good.) Anyway, this upgrade really gave the old JK a needed boost in the avionics department, bringing it up to date. One feature I really love is the ability to tilt the screen to get a better viewing angle. Anyway, it all turned out really well and I spent a total of about 350 bucks on the head unit, dash adapter, wiring harnass, and Sirius/XM antenna. It would have cost me $150 just to update the maps in the old unit. Now I never have to worry about that.

Can I ask where you got your Deal? Sounds like you got a killer deal! I was looking at Bestbuy & Crutchfield. Best Buy sells the AVH-2330NEX for $499 but also apparently need harness $99, double din kit $16.99, and antenna adapter $13.99. Crutchfield offers Pioneer AVH-2440NEX $349.99 harness with antenna adapter $139.96...not sure what diff is between the 2330 to the 2440, maybe just newer but either way both come out over 500+. I’m thinking head unit is my next upgrade after reading this post, just want to find the best deal!

The 2330 was on sale at BestBuy for $299 with free install. The specs on the 2440 look identical, so get whichever is cheaper.

I'm happy to sell the old unit for market value or even slightly under to anybody who might want it. Anyone can send me a PM if interested. I can get the model number, serial, etc, if needed.
