Am I the only one who hates the soundbar?

Guess the 4 screws (and the electrical connector) is all there is to it. Thanks for posting the pic, makes it alot easier to visualize

Default Once again you guys are the best.

Thanks for the info and picts.

Here's why I don't like it. I'm not a huge audiophile, so the speakers in the front are plenty for me. Also, when I sit in the back, pretending to be one of my kids, the soundbar seems huge. One of the great points of the Wrangler is the open top. My kids have a great view of a giant speaker. That doesn't seem very Jeepy to me.

Once I get it out, I'll definitely post it if someone wants it.

I just got this mental picture of you sitting in a car seat in the back of your jeep while parked in your driveway with all the neighbors looking on!

LMAO

The soundbar is a great idea. I don't know how else you'd get decent sound out of a convertible without sharing it with the entire neighborhood. If my backseat passengers don't like it....sorry.

Only problem with this I can think of is dealing with the Thumbscrews after removal. They would have to be refabbed or they would stick out.

In the case at hand, I would consider taking a dremel to the speaker portions, but leave some mechanism for mounting. (Cut the speaker portion off, and you cut out the screw holes to hold it up.) That is, assuming its the speaker part that is unfavorable. Also, your interior lighting is part of the mount as well. Of course, if there is no hard top (only soft top) then the only 'loss' is the interior light.

Once you get it out, please post some pictures... I'm curious to see how much space is added.

Default As easy as it looks

Thanks for the diagram! There were six screws not four so it took about 20 more seconds to get it out. Ha ha. Easy as pie. I have the soft top, so my only concern now is attaching another dome light.
I'm going to store the soundbar for a few weeks just to make sure I like it like this before I give it away... or sell it. Anyway without the soundbar, the space over the second row is really opened up and it doesn't look as bad as I feared. The center bar is painted the same color as the body and the fabric covers on the sides are finished underneath where the soundbar was. Some grab handles will nicely fill in the space over the door frame. I promise I'll take pictures soon.

Thanks for help.

Take the top off and go down the highway... I'm curious to see if that strip of steel (looks thin enough) running across the top of the soundbar will whistle now....
