Any auto part stores have antenna adapters for jk?

Does anyone know if I can find an adapter for my shorter radio antenna at a regular autoparts store or does it have to be ordered? Thanks in advance

The pre JK model (TJ, YJ) have a larger male side, never looked for an adapter...so I got an 8 inch shorty from shortyantennasource.com.

Fast delivery, good guy.....and I only lost about 15 miles of range on some of the AM stations.

I'm pretty certain there's a thread or two about cutting the stock antenna down. If interested, check with JackMac4--he's done it and I think he wrote the write-up.

You can also rotate the antena to the rear parallel to the windshield. If interested PM me I'll send pics.

I cut mine and rotated it to an angle to clear my lights. Still works good as new. The hardest part was removing the ball on the end to make the cut and then having to reapply it.

How does the ball come off? And then do you just cut the antenna and reapply the ball?

I stuck the ball in a vise and twisted the antenna near it with vise grips. The ball pops off and I cut the antenna. To put it back on I tapped the ball with the vise grips while holding the antenna itself in the vise (reverse of removal) Theres a thread on here somewhere were I got the idea.
