Anyone notice the lane changers?

So I was driving the JK the other day on the highway. Out of habit from my last vehicle, I pushed up the blinker knob and released. Voila! Three blinks from the flasher and it shut off. This feature was on my last german car and they called it lane changing blinkers. Just lift or press the the knob and it will flash for three turns and it will stop by itself. Since, I have used it over and over. Anyone else notice this on their JK? Don't fully engage the turn signal, just lift for a second and then release- you will see it flash three times- enough to change lanes on the highway!

I don't use the lane changer feature because everyone gets out of my way when I drive. :eek2: Just kidding. I had it on my Ram 2500 and it was a nice feature. Some people don't seem to like it.

I hate the feature, if i accidentaly bump the lever, it starts blinking so i bump it the other direction to turn it off, then it starts blinking on that side, and then I get so pissed off that i cuss, and the other day I couldn't take it anymore and ripped the damn lever off. Now it dangles by wires (some of which I had to resolder.) No turn signals at all now. I hate it when they keep adding unnecesarry crap to my vehicles and make me pay for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed that a bit ago. I like the feature. But driving in California usage of any lane change indicator is a sign or weakness. Just make the change as fast as you can. :rotflmao2:

Why, yes I have noticed the lane changer feature and I use it almost exclusively. With my hands on the steering wheel I only need to straighten my fingers and I can activate it. I only fully engage the turn signal if I want merge or change lanes in traffic and I'm looking for a kind soul to let me in.

Had the feature on my Grand Cherokee as well.

P.S. German cars, you say. Must have been one of the crumbs we got out of the Mercedes-Benz alliance.

I love it. It's absent from my work truck and I keep hitting the flasher once and expecting it to flash, and then I look like an ass making a lane change with the 'one blink'.

I didn't know it had an official name but yeah I love using it:yup:
