AUX input static
Hey all, I have my XM set up using the AUX input on the factory head unit. From time to time I hear LOTS of static that really takes away from listening. Fiddling with the cables works for a little while, but then the static returns. I'm trying to figure out if it's my cables (right angle adaptor used on both ends) or the AUX input itself. The connection doesn't feel very snug and I believe I hear the static if I take the RA adaptor out of the equation.
Anyone else have issues with the AUX input?

You should also try connecting another device to the same mini-plug cable, if you still hear it, you'll know it's not your XM. Then try connecting both devices to a different cable, if you still hear it, you'll know it's your aux jack...try blowing some air in to make sure there isn't any debris and repeat everything again.
I hate the tuner quality of mine, and commercial radio as well, so I listen to my ipod and sirius thru the aux jack exclusively and have never heard static at any volume level.

50% on both? WOW, I must be going deaf. If I have the iPod on 50% I have to have the radio up to 30 just to hear it. Or maybe I just like to feel my music too

I have noticed a buzz from my aux in if I leave the cable connected tothe head unit with nothing connected to the other end AND the headlights on. Other than that mine seems fine.
