Default Auxilary Outlet does not work?

When I first got my Jeep 2 months ago, I was tinting my windows outside tried had a cheapo power converter (dc/ac) plugged into the auxilary power adaptor (left side) plugged a hair dryer into it...needless to say the hairdryer didn't work...but now the adaptor doesn't work...

Any idea as to how I should go about fixing it.?

Did you check and/or replace the fuse for the outlet?

Left side only works when the Jeep is running if I remember correctly. If that isn't the problem, Robar's solution is your best bet.

haven't checked fuse..was gonna just let the dealer look at it on my next service....but I read another post earlier that someone else burnt out the socket on his...so I figured I should fix it myself...cuz if it is burnt then they are gonna point the finger about me....and prolly questions any other claim in the future

A hair dryer is a major power hog. Turn it on inside and watch the lights dim slightly. I'm guessing you blew a fuse at the speed of light trying to run it on an inverter...

Default I have the same problem

I've been having the same exact problem with my month-old wrangler x. the right outlet works fine at all times, but the left one never does, even when the car is running.

I looked in the manual and for outlets 1 and 2, the fuses are m6 and m7 in the fuse box. both of these were fine on mine.

outlet 3 is on m36, and that fuse was fine too. i don't even think i have an outlet 3 because i have a 2-door.

the only other thing i can think of is that maybe it wasn't wired up since i didn't get the smoker's package. if anyone else out there had the same problem, please let me know. i don't want to rip apart the outlet to see if it's wired if i don't have to.
