Managed to get the new speakers installed before I ran out of light today.

I also had a chance to poke around a little and I'm stuck at getting power to the sub.

I can't seem to find anywhere to run my 12V power from the battery to the back where the sub is. I don't see any existing holes in the firewall to run the wire through.

What have you guys done? Is there somewhere inside the vehicle that I can get 12V? Am I missing some spot in the firewall to run the wire through?

EDIT:

I did some more poking around online and found a few spots where Jeep filled holes with foam that may work. I'm going to give them a shot tomorrow when I get home from work and hopefully I can have power by the weekend

Success! The wiring went pretty well. I thought I was having trouble getting a good ground but I may be wrong... I couldn't get the sub to turn on, though I was getting 12V so I assumed ground. I kept moving to different grounds and no luck, then i realized that I had the auto start switch set to auto... Apparently the auto setting isn't used when you're using speaker level inputs so in all likelihood all of my ground locations were fine. Of course if I had read the instructions more thoroughly I would have know this.

Either way, we're in business. The sub sounds fantastic! way more bass than i need to enjoy my music. I was also driving with my freedom top panels off and the windows down and I haven't messed with tuning it much. It's amazing how much better the whole system sounds with some low end bump.

I'm very pleased with this addition to the JK and it gets my recommendation for sure!

Thanks to everyone for your advice or hints!

How do you like the Infinity 6032si 6.5s ? I was going to buy them.

Just fyi I was able to swap all 4 speakers with Infinity 6032si 6.5s and the whole install took less than 45 mins. If youre mechanically inclined at all this job can be done almost blindfolded.
