Default Battery overheat?

Have a 07 with a MORE dual battery tray. My battery is moved over toward the engine and I have my ARB compressor installed in the slot near the fender. My problem is that on hot days or long drives I have "acid" leaking out of the top of the battery. Is it too hot because of the under good temps and placement? It's really hot under there.

It may be more from the radiant heat of the engine/exhaust, than the general under-hood temps.

I would check the charging voltage first, to eliminate that as a possible cause of the boil over.

If that's OK, remove the compressor and move the battery back to it's original position. See if that fixes the problem.

If it does, leave the battery there, and install the compressor in the near-engine location.

If moving the battery back to its original location doesn't stop the boil over, it may be already damaged.

Thanks. I was leaning toward doing exactly what you said. Now I'll go do it.

Charging at 14.1 so I guess I'll move the battery

Maybe try adapting a starter heat shield:
