Default Bracketron Dash Mount Shakes Violently!

I was looking for a great (and inexpensive) place to securely place my cell phone and free up my cupholder. I saw this product and purchased it along with a Grip-It holder for the phone.

While this has proven to be an easy install and secure location for the phone, driving on a paved road faster than about 5mph causes the entire bracket to shake violently, rendering it useless for GPS or any other viewing-related purposes.

Has anyone else had this same problem? I think I'm going to ask a buddy of mine to fab up a duplicate bracket in a slightly thicker steel to see if it works and resolves the problem.

Yes, same issue here, horrible piece of junk in my opinion. Mine is sitting in some dark corner of my garage which is about all it can handle.

I have a daystar which I have added some Velcro tape to it. Felt side on the daystar and small amount of hooks on the DAB radio I use most on it.

Works a treat.

My bracketron works great, got it all nice and rigged up with barely any wires showing or anything. Fits the girlfriends ipod as well as my phone and other devices. Got it cheap off ebay too, which helps
